Comprehensive Model Context Protocol server for managing Home Assistant through AI assistants.
Motley — NYC Neighborhoods, Schools & Admissions is installed from its publisher's own source and answers where it runs, so this marketplace is not in the path of a single call. There is no address here to send one to, and a panel that pretended otherwise would be showing you an answer we made up. Install it and call it from your own client — the Installation tab has the entry for each one.
What it does
Find, compare, and rank NYC neighborhoods and schools, plus how NYC school admissions works.
Quickstart
# 1 — add it to Claude Code
claude mcp add --scope user --transport http motley-nyc-neighborhoods-schools-admissions-mcp https://mcp.motley.nyc/mcp
# 2 — ask your agent for something these tools do
# search-neighborhoods, get-neighborhood, get-neighborhood-summary and 14 more
Motley — NYC Neighborhoods, Schools & Admissions costs nothing on mcprush: there is no plan to choose here, no cap to set and nothing mcprush can bill you for.
Collected from a public index. Nobody has claimed this account, so nothing here was written by its author — claim it if it is yours.
Where are you running it?
Every route below installs the same thing and ends at the same approval screen. Nothing here runs on your machine and nothing runs on ours: this server answers at its publisher’s own address, and what you install is the connection straight to it.
This is a public server: it answers at its publisher’s own address and this marketplace is not in the path. Claude Code registers it in one command; --scope user makes it available in every project. The transport below is http, as the publisher's own manifest declares it.
claude mcp add --scope user --transport http motley-nyc-neighborhoods-schools-admissions-mcp https://mcp.motley.nyc/mcpReconnect, or start a new session, and the tools appear in the model’s tool list.
One config entry pointing straight at the publisher’s own address — this marketplace is not in the path, and nothing from this listing executes on your machine.

The interpretation-first front door; start here when a family wants an answer, not a data dump.
| Parameter | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| nta_code | string | yes | NTA code (e.g. BK0101) |
Get schools within a neighborhood — public, charter, and private. Includes quality ratings, grade levels, contact info. Use count_only for a quick summary, or limit/offset to page the full list (the response reports total/returned).

Find NYC schools citywide by what a family wants — borough, community school district (1-32), grade band (pre-K/elementary/middle/high), school type (public/charter/private), admissions method (zoned, screened, unscreened, limited unscreened, ed-opt, audition, SHSAT, charter lottery, private, universal pre-K), and program focus (arts, sports, STEM, language, academic, clubs). |---|---|---|---|
| borough | string | no | Limit to one borough. Omit unless the family named one. |
| district | array | no | Community school district numbers, 1-32. A borough is NOT a district — for 'schools in the Bronx' use borough and omit this. Never guess one. |
| grade_band | string | no | prek (K-12 schools that also run 3-K/pre-K), elementary (K-5), middle (6-8), high (9-12) |
| governance | array | no | School type. Omit unless the family named one. |
| admissions_method | array | no | How the school admits students; matches a school admitting by ANY listed method. Call get-admissions-methods or explain-admissions-method for what each one means. |
| program_categories | array | no | Program focus; matches a school offering ANY listed focus. 'arts' covers art, music, dance, drama and theater; 'extracurricular' means clubs. Tagged on public and charter schools ONLY. |
| limit | integer | no | Max schools to return |
| offset | integer | no | Number of schools to skip, for paging |
Use this to turn a school's name into its DBN — the official name, a common short form ('Brooklyn Tech', 'PS 321'), or a DBN to confirm. Returns candidate schools with their district, neighborhood, admission method and Motley page; pick the one that matches and pass its dbn to get-admissions-demand. Never guess a DBN. K-12 schools only (public, charter, private).
| Parameter | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| query | string | yes | The school as the family named it: its official name ('Townsend Harris High School'), a common short form ('Brooklyn Tech', 'PS 321'), or its DBN ('02M475'). |
| borough | string | no | Narrow a name search to one borough when the family named it. Ignored when the query is a DBN. |
| limit | integer | no | Max candidates to return |
Use this when a family asks which elementary school is zoned for a home they live in or are considering. Pass the street address they gave — building number and street, ideally with the borough — never the device's location. Returns the zoned K-5 school, the neighborhood, and how zoned admission works; some areas, like all of District 1, have no zoned school.
| Parameter | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| address | string | yes | The street address of a home the family lives in or is considering, with the building number and ideally the borough — e.g. "123 7th Ave, Brooklyn". Only an address the family gave you; never the devi |

| Parameter | Type | Required | Notes |

Get kids' activities and businesses in a neighborhood — classes, sports, arts, tutoring, etc. Use count_only for category breakdown, or limit/offset to page the full list (reports total/returned). Each place's last_refreshed is when we last confirmed it was still listed.
| Parameter | Type | Required | Notes |

| Parameter | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| nta_code | string | yes | NTA code to find similar neighborhoods for |
| limit | number | no | Number of comparable neighborhoods |
Find which NYC neighborhood (NTA) an address or coordinate is in. Pass a NYC address the family gave (placed with NYC's official address directory; include the borough when you know it) OR lat+lng. Returns the NTA code, name, borough, a link to the neighborhood's Motley page, and a decision-ready family-fit summary. Use this to turn a real-world location into a neighborhood you can pass to the oth
| Parameter | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| address | string | no | A NYC street address or place name the family gave (e.g. "350 5th Ave, Manhattan") — never the device's location. Geocoded with NYC's official address directory; include the borough when you know it. |
| lat | number | no | Latitude of a point the family named or picked (NYC box) — never the device's location. Provide with lng instead of an address. |

Rank NYC neighborhoods by what a family cares about. Pass per-metric weights (family density, schools, affordability, neighborhood character, transit, safety, air & water quality) and/or ranked priority keywords; optionally scope to one borough. Returns the top neighborhoods with a fit score and the metric breakdown — a deterministic weighted sort over neighborhood-level data, not a per-child scho
| Parameter | Type | Required | Notes |

| weights | object | no | Per-metric importance (0+; higher = matters more). Any subset; normalized internally. Overrides priorities when both are given. |
| priorities | array | no | Ranked priority keywords, most important first — e.g. ["safety","schools","affordability"]. Mapped to metric weights with rank decay (used only when weights is absent). |
| borough | string | no | Restrict the ranking to one borough |
| limit | integer | no | How many top neighborhoods to return |
| min_population | integer | no | Residential floor — drops parks/cemeteries/airports that score ~100 by having almost no residents (default 1000). |
Compare 2–6 NYC neighborhoods side by side across the 9 family-fit metrics (Family Fit, Families, Affordability, Schools, Neighborhood Character, Transit, Safety, Health, Activities). Pass an array of NTA codes; returns a per-metric matrix with each neighborhood's band and the per-metric leader.
| Parameter | Type | Required | Notes |

Explain one NYC admission entry point or method in full — the plain-English explainer, its typical deadline window, and, when the method asks a family for more than a ranked application, exactly what it requires (audition or portfolio, SHSAT registration, a demonstrated-interest sign-in, a private school's own test/interview track) plus the extra paperwork that comes with it. Use this when a family asks how a specific school admits students or how hard it is to get in. Returns the school's admission method in full (what it asks of a family, and when), its programs with seats and who may apply, and — where NYC MySchools publishes them — seats vs. applicants per program with a competitiveness band that is Motley's own, not a DOE rating. What counts against your monthly calls

Nothing here is billable: mcprush charges nothing to install Motley — NYC Neighborhoods, Schools & Admissions or to call it, at any volume.
Two independent axes, because powerful and malicious are different questions. The grade is threat only. The capability level is blast radius, and it is never a penalty on the grade — it is priced as one subtract-only term in the score, where you can see it.
This listing is an address its publisher runs, and you connect to it directly — this marketplace is not in the path. The scanner reads packages and public source, and an address is neither. So there is no grade — not a withheld one, an unmeasured one.

This is an address its publisher runs: which release it serves is theirs to choose, so there is nothing here to pin. The history below is for reading; the current release on file is 0.4.1.
No release note was published with this version.
One review per account, from a signed-in account that does not publish this listing. Nothing else is asked — you can say what you think before you install it. Publishers can reply once per review, and a review can be edited or deleted by whoever wrote it.
Any signed-in account that does not publish Motley — NYC Neighborhoods, Schools & Admissions can review it, once — before installing it or after. A review from an account that has installed it is marked as one.
Nobody has reviewed this listing. The rating on the card is the mean of the reviews written here and nothing else, so there is no rating until somebody writes the first — which takes a signed-in account that does not publish it, and nothing else.
