Careers

mcprush sells MCP servers and agent skills — the tools an agent reaches for the moment it has to do something real. We are not the model and we are not the tool. We are the thing in between, and every call goes through us.

Hiring

How hiring runs

Six steps, four of which are conversations, and the whole thing is two to three weeks if diaries cooperate. Every session is scheduled inside your working hours rather than ours, and every one of them is with people who would work with you rather than with people assigned to assess you.

The steps 3 h 45 m in total
0
You apply 5 working days
Four fields and one paragraph. A person reads it — not a screen, not a keyword filter. You get an answer either way inside 5 working days, and a no says which part it was.
1
Intro call 30 min
With the person you would report to. Testing whether the problem in the post is a problem you want. Half the call is yours, and using all of it counts for you.
2
Work session 90 min, paid
A scrubbed version of something we actually hit, with the tools we actually have. Testing how you narrow a problem you have not seen before. You can swap it for a walkthrough of something you have already built if that shows more of you.
3
Depth conversation 60 min
One open design question from the role, argued in both directions. Testing whether you can change your mind out loud. There is no answer we are sitting on waiting to hear.
4
The team 45 min
Two people you would work with daily, plus your questions. Testing nothing. It is your last cheap chance to find out what you would be joining, and it is treated that way.
5
Decision 3 working days
Written feedback either way. An offer comes with the number we settled on and the reasoning for where on it, so there is nothing to prise out of anyone.

What we do not do

These are the things a good candidate is actually deciding on, so they are written down rather than discovered.

No take-home longer than the interview it replaces

The work session is 90 scheduled minutes and it is paid at $250. There is no evening project, no weekend build, and nothing that expands to fill the time of whoever is most desperate.

No whiteboard algorithms

Nobody here has inverted a tree since the last time they were interviewed. We will ask you to read code and reason about a system, both of which are Tuesday.

No more than four conversations

If a fifth would decide it, we have failed to decide, and that is ours to fix rather than yours to sit through. The loop is fixed before we post the role.

No culture-fit round

Nobody with no stake in the outcome gets a veto. Everyone who talks to you would work with you.

No asking what you earn now

What you are paid today has nothing to do with what this role is worth. Two people hired at the same level get the same offer, and neither of them had to be good at asking.

No unpaid work that we keep

Whatever comes out of the work session is deleted on our side and yours to keep on yours.

No going quiet

More than 5 working days without a word from us is a mistake, not a signal. Chase it, and be annoyed about it.

If none of these is you

We would still rather hear it than not

There is no talent-pool form here and no "general application" that disappears into a folder. If the problem is interesting to you but the 3 posts above are not, the contact page has a route that reaches a person, and saying which of the 3 you are nearly is the fastest way to be read.
