This one runs on your machine: your client starts X (Twitter) as a process under your own user, with your files and your network, so the tool surface below is what it can do to your computer rather than to a server somewhere else. To set an optional one (MCP_TRANSPORT, MCP_NAME, MCP_PATH, SERVER_PORT, SERVER_READ_TIMEOUT, SERVER_WRITE_TIMEOUT and 13 more), add -e NAME before the image name and give it a value in the entry’s env: an unset -e would clear the default the image sets. Claude Code registers it in one command; --scope user makes it available in every project. Claude Code reads X_API_KEY (OAuth 1.0a consumer key. developer.x.com -> your project -> your app -> Keys and tokens), X_API_KEY_SECRET (OAuth 1.0a consumer secret, issued together with X_API_KEY), X_ACCESS_TOKEN (User access token. Set the app permissions to Read and Write BEFORE generating it: a token keeps the permissions it was created with, and a read-only one fails), X_ACCESS_TOKEN_SECRET (User access token secret, issued together with X_ACCESS_TOKEN), MEDIA_ROOT (Absolute path to an existing directory - the only one x_media_upload may read files from.
